A Trip to the Hospital

A Trip to the Hospital (Little Bill)A Trip to the Hospital
By Kim Watson
Illustrated by Mark Salisbury
Created by Bill Cosby

We are Little Bill fans and of course this book was a hit with my boys. Little Bill is playing cowboys with his friend Fushia when he falls and breaks his arm. He goes to the hospital to see the doctor. A bit afraid, Little Bill is brave and lets the doctor look at his arm and take an x-ray. After getting a cast on his arm, Little Bill announces that he now wants to be both a doctor and a cowboy. This is a great book if you have a little one who is fearful of doctors.

Goggles!

Peter and Archie were playing in the alley when they found a pair of goggles. Very excited about their discovery, they were startled when some "big boys" appeared, demanding the goggles. Follow along as Peter, Archie, and Willie (Peter's dog) are able to bravely outsmart the big boys and keep their new found treasure!

Bippity Bop Barbershop

by Natasha Tarpley
Illustrated by E. B. Lewis

This is a great story about a little boy named Miles and his first trip to the barber shop with his father. Miles is very excited, but at the same time has to be brave. Sensing his son's fear of the clippers, the Daddy encourages him to be brave and pretend that he is a giant and that the buzzing of the clippers is only a plane zooming by! Miles overcomes his fear and requests a haircut just like his father's. I wish that we had this book when my boys got their first haircut. Although it was not in a barbershop, I think it would have helped them overcome their initial fear of the buzzing clippers.
